Biography of Don Malone
Don Malone Graduated from the University of Toronto with a Degree in Engineering and Business, plus a subsequent MBA from the University of Waterloo (Ontario). In his early career he held a variety of Engineering and Project management positions with General Foods Corporation. He then was President of Flodar Corporation, a division of Alco Standard, which manufactured hydraulic tube and pipe fittings.
In 1982 Mr. Malone started Malone Specialty Inc. to supply metric sized fluid connecting devices. The company developed an industrial products division and a transportation products division which designed and sold engineered subsystems for imported trucks.
As part of the industrial products Mr. Malone was active in the Amusement industry supplying hydraulic components for amusement rides. He was active in the Amusement Industry Association, teaching hydraulic safety to amusement industry mechanics and operators for several years at the annual Amusement industry Safety Seminar. Also as part of this work Mr. Malone led a task force for the ASTM F24 committee that wrote standards for amusement rides and devices. That task force wrote a new standard for hydraulics for amusement rides that is the law today in the United States.
From the year 2000 on Mr. Malone concentrated on the transportation industry and invented the CV-MARC (Commercial Vehicle management and Reporting Center) for which he holds three patents.
In 2013 Mr. Malone spun off the CV-MARC business into a private company – Malone Consulting Inc. wich now sells the product to fleets in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Mr. Malone and his wife Carole live in Fort Myers Florida and their three children live in the Cleveland Ohio area. Steven Malone, his son, is President of Malone Specialty Inc. and Susan Vines, his daughter, also works for the company.
Don’s role in the CVC-MARC business is to work with the customers to determine their specific needs and then to present a proposal to solve them.
